Dr. Jiong-Wei Wang obtained his PhD in Medicine from Leiden University Medical Centre, The Netherlands, in 2013. He completed his postdoctoral training at University Medical Center Utrecht and the National University of Singapore. In 2019, he established his independent research group as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Surgery, with a joint appointment in the Dept. of Physiology at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Dr. Wang is also a PI in the Cardiovascular-Metabolic Disease Translational Research Programme and the Nanomedicine Translational Research Programme. His research has been supported by the National Medical Research Council, the Ministry of Education, and NUS/NUHS, among others. His contributions to research and mentorship have been recognised with the Young Investigator Award from the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (three times); two travel awards from the European Society of Cardiology; the Wong Hock Boon Society–Singapore Medical Association Charity Fund Outstanding Mentor Award in 2019; the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Young Researcher of the Year Award in 2023; and the Research Excellence Award in 2026. In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Wang contributes actively to institutional service. He currently serves as NUS IACUC committee member, Deputy Chair of Safety and Health at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and as Chair for Safety and Health in the Dept. of Surgery.
